Fairytale of New York – Stunning Zoetrope Vinyl EP Featuring Kirsty MacColl’s Live Debut

The Pogues’ timeless Christmas classic, recently voted the nation’s favourite 80s duet (Radio 2 listeners), will now be released as a Limited Edition 12” Zoetrope vinyl EP. The disc features mesmerising zoetrope imagery inspired by the classic Fairytale of New York music video, bringing the artwork to life when spinning on a turntable.

 

The EP includes the original version, instrumental version, and a rare live version of “Dirty Old Town” from Glasgow Barrowland recorded in December 1987. Also from the same show is a completely unheard live version of “Fairytale of New York”, capturing the first time the band ever performed it live. This very special version also features Kirsty MacColl’s debut live performance with the band and has been remixed and enhanced by the original producer, Steve Lillywhite, specifically for this EP.
