A Quick One is the second studio album from legendary English rock band The Who, originally released in 1966. The album captures the band developing beyond their early Mod and R&B roots, with a more adventurous approach to songwriting, production and arrangement.
Featuring Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon, the album showcases the contrasting songwriting styles of the band members. Townshend's compositions sit alongside distinctive contributions from Entwistle and Daltrey, while Moon's explosive drumming adds the raw energy that became central to The Who's sound.
The album features memorable tracks including “Happy Jack,” “Substitute,” “A Quick One, While He's Away” and “Boris The Spider.” The title track is particularly significant as an early example of Townshend's ambitious multi-part rock compositions.
