Released in 1980, Zenyatta Mondatta was the third studio album from British trio The Police and marked their global breakthrough. Written and recorded while the band was constantly touring, the record captures a tight, energetic sound that blends rock, reggae rhythms and new wave melodies into a distinctive style that defined early-80s popular music.

The album features some of the band’s most recognisable songs including the chart-topping “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” and the infectious “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da”. Alongside the hit singles, deeper cuts such as “Driven to Tears” and “Canary in a Coalmine” showcase the group’s musicianship and Sting’s increasingly thoughtful songwriting.
