Naked is the eighth and final studio album by Talking Heads, released in 1988, and stands as one of their most rhythmically adventurous and globally inspired works. Drawing heavily on African, Caribbean and Latin musical influences, the album blends polyrhythmic grooves with funk, pop and art-rock sensibilities. Tracks such as “Blind,” “Nothing But Flowers” and “(Nothing But) Flowers” pair infectious rhythms with David Byrne’s sharp, often ironic reflections on modern life, politics and environmental themes. Expansive, layered and exploratory, Naked captures Talking Heads pushing their collaborative, genre-blurring approach to its most ambitious and expressive conclusion.
