Steve Hackett - Under A Mediterranean Sky CD

Under A Mediterranean Sky is an atmospheric acoustic album from Steve Hackett, inspired by his travels through the Mediterranean and the landscapes, cultures and musical traditions encountered along the way. The former Genesis guitarist combines his distinctive playing with classical, progressive and world music influences to create a richly cinematic instrumental journey.

Featuring “Mdina (The Walled City)”, “Adriatic Blue”, “Sirocco”, “Joie De Vivre”, “The Memory Of Myth”, “Andalusian Heart” and “The Call Of The Sea”, the album moves between delicate acoustic passages and sweeping orchestral arrangements.

Hackett performs on nylon-string, steel-string and twelve-string guitars alongside instruments including charango and Iraqi oud, while long-time collaborator Roger King contributes keyboards, programming and orchestral arrangements. Additional flute, violin, duduk and other traditional instrumentation add further colour to the album's Mediterranean character.

Beautifully melodic and evocative, Under A Mediterranean Sky is an excellent addition to any Steve Hackett collection and an absorbing listen for fans of acoustic guitar, progressive, classical and instrumental music.
