Screaming Trees - Buzz Factory LP

Buzz Factory is the fourth studio album by American alternative rock band Screaming Trees, originally released in 1989 on SST Records. Recorded in Seattle and produced by Jack Endino, the album captures the band blending raw garage rock, psychedelic influences and the emerging grunge sound that would soon bring the Pacific Northwest alternative scene international attention.

Fronted by Mark Lanegan's distinctive, brooding vocals, the band combines fuzz-heavy guitars, driving rhythms and swirling psychedelic arrangements to create a sound that is both gritty and hypnotic. Highlights include the atmospheric “Where The Twain Shall Meet”, the guitar-driven “Black Sun Morning”, “Too Far Away” and the compelling “Subtle Poison”.

Other standout tracks include “Windows”, “Flower Web”, “Revelation Revolution” and the expansive “End Of The Universe”, showcasing the group's ability to balance hard-edged alternative rock with experimental musical textures.

Featuring Gary Lee Conner on guitar, Van Conner on bass and Mark Pickerel on drums, Buzz Factory represents an important chapter in Screaming Trees' early career. This influential release captures the band's underground roots before their later success with albums such as Sweet Oblivion, making it a notable addition to the history of American alternative rock.
