British super-producer M1onTheBeat has announced his highly-anticipated debut mixtape titled ‘M1onTheBeat: The Mixtape’, set for release on Friday 24th November 2023.

Over three years in the making, M1onTheBeat’s long-awaited solo project is finally on the horizon and a defining moment as he steps out further to establish himself as an artist in his own right. The mixtape is a testament to his dedication to music since the age of 16, and his fierce commitment to elevating black music in the UK to a new plateau - one where it is critically and commercially acknowledged as a powerhouse. With a natural flair for spotlighting the very best talent, across 15 tracks, M1 enlists the very best names in the UK rap game with appearances from Headie One, K-Trap, Digga D, Knucks, Meekz, Kojey Radical, French the Kid and more. From start to finish, the mixtape is a look into the true extent of M1’s skill; something that, though defined largely by drill, has several layers beyond it and sees him embrace his creative process in its fullest form.

The announcement follows the Cristale-backed ‘Sing Dat’ released earlier this month. A standout collaboration on the project, it’s yet another display of M1’s ability to create street bangers and mainstream breakers in equal measure. The single is home to a melodious guitar riff, which to the listener, may seem more at home on an indie rock song than an up-tempo drill track - further proof of M1’s efforts of moving the sonic dimensions of drill further away from the source and breathing new life into the genre.

Music was preordained as M1's fate. The youngest son of a musician, his father would go to lengths to ensure music would mould his son and form the basis of a blossoming career. For over half a decade, M1onTheBeat has made the sound of UK drill his own, playing a vital role in the genre’s transformation from maligned by the establishment to a commercial force. All while gravitating the biggest and most exciting names in the field to his orbit and becoming one of UK music’s most sought-after producers.
His career thus far has been nothing short of momentous and what is clear is that M1 has played his part in advancing black music in the UK. Think of Digga D’s ‘Woi’, K-Trap’s ‘Warm’, Headie One and Drake’s ‘Only You Freestyle’ and Headie’s ‘Martin’s Sofa’, anthems that are knitted to the fabric of UK drill and brought much acclaim for M1. He has landed producer credits on five albums that reached number one on the UK Albums Charts and ten top 10 albums, including Digga D’s Made In The Pyrex, Headie One’s EDNA and Knucks’ Alpha Place, garnering over 500M+ streams worldwide and ‘Producer of the Year’ wins at the 2021 MOBO and GRM Daily Rated Awards. For M1, he anticipates a world in which music producers can thrive just as much as the person behind the microphone and he’ll be content knowing he helped others through the doors of success.
