Volunteers, the fifth studio album from Jefferson Airplane, stands as one of the most powerful musical statements of the late 1960s. Released at the height of social and political upheaval, the album captured the spirit of the era with politically charged lyrics addressing themes such as the injustice and unrest surrounding the Vietnam War.

At the time, Volunteers was seen as controversial for its outspoken commentary, yet it also received widespread acclaim from critics, including praise from Rolling Stone, who recognised the album’s bold artistic and cultural impact.

Technologically, the record was ahead of its time, making use of the then state-of-the-art 16-track tape machine. This allowed the band to create a richer, more layered sound that helped shape the album’s powerful psychedelic rock atmosphere.

More than five decades later, Volunteers remains a landmark of late-60s rock music—both sonically adventurous and historically significant—continuing to captivate music fans around the world.

This edition is released as a limited pressing of 2000 individually numbered copies on blue coloured vinyl, making it a standout addition for collectors of classic psychedelic and counterculture-era rock.
