The American punk rock band The Dictators was described by critics as “one of the finest and most influential proto-punk bands to walk the earth”. They released five studio albums in total, including the 1977 album “Manifest Destiny”. The album features a cover version of “Search & Destroy” by The Stooges. The band members on this album are ‘Handsome’ Dick Manitoba (vocals), Ross The Boss on lead guitar, Top Ten on rhythm guitar, Andy ‘Adny’ Shernoff on keyboards and vocals, Ritchie Teeter on drums and Mark ‘The Animal’ Mendoza on bass guitar. The album was produced by Murray Pearlman and Sandy Krugman with songs written by Shernoff.
